Today, some of the most popular items on the market are isolates. Isolates are singled-out cannabinoids like THC or CBD, that have been extracted from the marijuana plant. A term you may not be as familiar with is ‘whole plant therapy’.

Isolates

There are over 100 different cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, but the two most popular are THC and CBD. These components are largely responsible for the medical benefits that marijuana has to offer. THC treats a myriad of symptoms, but is most well-known for its euphoric effect, or “high”. CBD treats many of the same symptoms, but CBD doesn’t produce a high. Some people are in it for the euphoric feeling and will choose a THC isolate. Not everyone wants to get high, which is why they’d choose a CBD isolate instead.

Whole Plant Therapy

This brings us to whole plant therapy. This form of medical marijuana will essentially keep it in its natural form, combining all of the 100+ cannabinoids, including terpenes (aromatic compounds), into one medication. You may think that this would make it more extreme than isolates, yet that’s not always the case.

Entourage Effect

There is something called the entourage effect. This happens when all of the cannabinoids synergistically work together. Isolates are typically void of the many other cannabinoids that could potentially offer significant benefits.

THC and CBD both have the ability to treat a wide range of ailments, but it is very possible that they are even more effective when combined. Whole plant therapy and full-spectrum extracts preserve the natural effects while filtering out the impurities than can dampen the benefits. The outcome can be intense, but extremely helpful. It’s important to note that CBD has the ability to lessen the effects of THC, so whole plant therapy isn’t always going to get you high, however, it is still possible to feel some psychoactive effects.

No matter which cannabinoid you prefer at the moment (THC or CBD), give whole plant therapy a try. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Whole Plant Therapy is a medical treatment that not only holds the potential to treat a myriad of symptoms but can also save thousands of lives.
